pretty obsessed with sashiko lately. went down to purl soho today and picked up some sashiko thread, needles, and a thimble.
running outta my apartment in a rush, i tore a hole in my new angler jacket. needless to say, i’m gonna try my hand at a smaller sashiko patch.
thanks bandana wanderings.
i picked up a tenugui from needles this past weekend a bit ignorantly. when i got home i discovered the history behind the japanese expanse of cloth and can’t deny I dig it. the multi-use / wabi-sabi aspects of the tenugui made it a more worthwhile purchase than just picking up any old bandana.
not into it’s styling here, but i’ve been carrying it around since i got it, wearing it around my neck or in my pocket. i guess that must make it a bandana at the moment. but as time goes on, the colour fades, and the edges fray, maybe it’ll be just a bit more.
so it goes.
so ridiculous. and to think i own the men’s version of this. sans leopard print.

details on this are out of this world. it will never be a kapital piece, but i hope that my engineered field jacket will one day gain the wear and tear (and repair) that this piece has.
just got a reply from bailey works about making a bag like this, with olive instead of purple.
i received a prompt ‘no’.
:( looks like i’ll have to have a run of the mill bag
